NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING, ANNUAL VOTING,
ELECTION OF BOARD MEMBER AND PROPOSITION OF
BRADFORD CENTRAL SCHOOL DISTRICT
THE BOARD OF EDUCATION OF THE BRADFORD CENTRAL SCHOOL DISTRICT (THE “DISTRICT”) HEREBY GIVES NOTICE that pursuant to a Resolution adopted by the Board of Education of the District on the 19th day of March 2026, the Annual Meeting of the qualified voters of the District will be held in the Cafeteria of the School located at 2820 State Route 226, Bradford, New York, on the 19th day of May, 2026 from 12 Noon to 8:00 p.m., prevailing time, for the purpose of voting upon the following propositions
Budget Hearing
A budget hearing for the inhabitants of the Bradford Central School District qualified to vote at School District meetings will be held virtually, commencing at 6:00 pm on Tuesday, May 19, 2026 where there shall be presented the proposed School District budget for the following school year.
Date of Vote
The vote upon the appropriation of the necessary funds to meet the estimated expenditures or for any propositions involving the expenditure of money or the authorizing of levy of taxes, as well as the election of members of the Board of Education shall be held on Tuesday, May 19, 2026 at Bradford Central School between the hours of 12:00 Noon until 8:00 pm.
Statement of Money Required for Next School Year
A copy of the statement of the amount of money which would be required for the next school year for school purposes shall be completed seven days before the budget hearing and may be obtained by any resident of the District at the school during the period of 14 days immediately before the annual meeting and election, between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m., except Saturday, Sunday or holiday. A tax exemption impact report will be appended to the preliminary budget and also be available.
Vote for Board Members
Petitions nominating candidates for the office of member of the Board of Education must be filed with the Clerk of the District between the hours of 9:00 am and 3:00 pm, but not later than 3:00 pm on April 20, 2026. The following vacancies are to be filled:

Each petition must be addressed to the Clerk of the District, be signed by a least 25 qualified voters of the District, shall state the residence of each signer, the name and address of the candidate.
Additional Propositions
Any proposition that is required to be included for vote shall be submitted in writing by means of a petition signed by at least 25 qualified voters, stating the residence of each signer, which proposition shall be filed with the Board of Education not later than April 20, 2026 unless a greater number of days is required by statute. Any proposition shall be rejected by the Board of Education if the purpose of the proposition is not within the powers of the voters or where the expenditure of monies is required for the proposition, and such proposition fails to include the necessary specific appropriation.
Proposition #1
The Board of Education of the Bradford Central School District be authorized to purchase one seventy (70) passenger conventional diesel school bus with wheelchair access, with a total estimated cost not to exceed $200,000, including necessary furnishings, fixtures and equipment and all other costs incidental thereto, which is estimated to be the maximum total cost thereof, and which shall be funded through the District’s Capital Transportation Reserve Fund.
NOTICE IS GIVEN that voting upon the foregoing Proposition will be by paper ballots and will take place in the School Cafeteria, 2820 State Route 226, Bradford, New York, on May 19, 2026 from 12:00 noon to 8:00 p.m., prevailing time.
Absentee Ballots
PLEASE TAKE FURTHER NOTICE that qualified voters of the District may obtain applications for early mail or an absentee ballot from the office of the Clerk of the District. Completed applications must be received by the Clerk of the District no later than 3:00 p.m. on May 19, 2026. A listing of all persons to whom an absentee ballot is issued will be available for inspection by any qualified voter in the office of the Clerk of the District between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. through May 13, 2026, except on Saturdays, Sundays or holidays. Any qualified voter, may upon examination of such list, file written challenge of qualifications as a voter of any person whose name appears on such list, stating the reasons for the challenge. Such written challenge shall be transmitted by the Clerk or designee to the Inspectors of Election on Election Day.
