NOTICE OF ANNUAL SCHOOL DISTRICT PUBLIC HEARING AND VOTE   NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Annual School District Vote of the Little Falls City School District, Herkimer County, New York, will be held on Tuesday, May 19, 2026 from 11:00 A.M. to 8:00 P.M. in the High School Gymnasium for the purposes of voting on the budget for the fiscal year 2026-2027, electing two members of the Board of Education for three (3) three-year terms to commence July 1, 2026 to fill the vacancies created by the expiration on June 30, 2026 of the terms of Kristina Hameister and Kimberly Sabatino.   TAKE FURTHER NOTICE that all candidates for the office of member of the Board of Education shall be nominated by petition. Each petition shall be directed to the Clerk of the District, shall be signed by at least 100 qualified voters of the District, shall state the residence of each signer, and shall state the name and residence of the candidate. Each petition must be filed in the office of the Clerk of the District no later than 3 o’clock P.M. on Wednesday, April 29, 2026.   TAKE FURTHER NOTICE , that applications for early mail ballots and absentee ballots will be obtainable during school business hours from the District Clerk, applications will be accepted by the District Clerk beginning April 20, 2026; completed applications must be received by the District Clerk at least seven (7) days before the election if the ballot is to be mailed to the voter, or the day before the election, if the ballot is to be delivered personally to the voter. Early mail ballots must be received by the District Clerk no later than 4:00 p.m., prevailing time, on May 19, 2026. A list of persons to whom early mail ballots are issued will be available for inspection to qualified voters of the District in the office of the District Clerk during each of the five days prior to the day of the election, Mon-Fri, between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.   TAKE FURTHER NOTICE that the Public Hearing will take place on Wednesday, May 6, 2026 at 5:00 p.m. at the Benton Hall Academy Conference Room.   TAKE FURTHER NOTICE that voting on the budget and all propositions shall consist of voting on the following propositions: PROPOSITION NO. 1 BUDGET RESOLVED, that the budget for the Little Falls City School District in the County of Herkimer in the State of New York, for the fiscal year commencing July 1, 2026 and ending June 30, 2027, as presented by the Board of Education, is hereby approved and adopted and the required funds therefore are hereby appropriated and the necessary real property taxes required shall be raised by a tax on the taxable property in said District to be levied and collected as required by law.   TAKE FURTHER NOTICE, that the Board of Education of this District will have prepared and completed a detailed statement in writing on the amount of money which will be required during the ensuing 2026-2027 fiscal year for school purposes, specifying the several purposes and the amount for each. The amount of each purpose estimate necessary for payments to boards of cooperative educational services shall be set forth in full with no deduction of estimated state aid.
