The Mississippi Division of Medicaid (DOM) is issuing a Request for Applications (RFA) (RFx # 3150006783) to solicit responses from qualified applicants to serve as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) on a contractual basis within the Office of Finance.
The successful candidate must hold an active CPA license and be responsible for providing high-level advisory and analytical support for complex funding streams, focusing on managed care operations, federal reporting, and regulatory compliance. This role requires an independent professional with extensive experience in governmental and/or healthcare accounting and the ability to manage multiple priorities while training staff. Key strengths include advanced analytical skills, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to communicate complex financial matters clearly to diverse stakeholders.
The rate of pay shall be $52.50 per hour (plus the applicable fringe rate), not to exceed 1,850 hours annually. The initial contract term will be five (5) years, commencing on July 1, 2026, and concluding on June 30, 2031.
Minimum qualifications include a bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university in accounting or a related field and an active CPA license in good standing. Qualified candidates must possess ten (10) or more years of professional accounting experience.
