PUBLIC NOTICE TO ALL REGISTERED VOTERS OF PASSAIC COUNTY You are hereby advised of the following procedure to be used for the Special General Election in the municipalities of Little Falls, Totowa, Wayne & Woodland Park in the County of Passaic on April 16, 2026. (1) any person attempting to vote may be challenged by a candidate, by the duly authorized challenger for a candidate or a political party or on a public question, or because the challenger has good cause to believe that the voter is not entitled to vote; (2) members of the district board and all duly authorized challengers are prohibited from challenging, delaying or preventing the right to vote of any person because of that person's race, color, nation origin, expected manner of casting a vote or residence in a particular ward, housing complex or section of a municipality or county; (3) a person who is challenged may seek to establish his or her right to vote by swearing out and signing an affidavit attesting to the voter's qualifications and/or providing a suitable identifying document for inspection, which may be - but is not limited to - the following: a valid New Jersey Driver's License, a sample ballot with voter's name and address, an official Federal, State County or Municipal document, a utility or telephone bill or tax or rent receipt dated -, or a piece of mail postmarked on or after the 60th day before election; a copy of the affidavit shall be given to the challenged voter; the district board shall determine the validity of the challenge by voting on it or pursuant to N.J.S.A. 19:15-24; (4) any person who is challenged by a duly authorized challenger may seek to establish his or her right to vote by swearing out and signing the affidavit and/or providing the proof described in Paragraph (3) above; the district board shall determine the validity of the challenge by voting on it pursuant to N.J.S.A. 19:15-24; (5) any challenger who succeeds in denying a voter the right to vote must sign an affidavit stating the reason why the voter is not entitled to vote and must furnish a copy of the affidavit to the challenged voter; (6) any person who is denied the right to vote by reason of a successful challenge made at the polls may seek permission to vote by going before a Superior Court Judge at Paterson to seek a court order allowing that person to vote; the applicant should take copies of any affidavits given to him or to her at the polls and any proof submitted at the pools in support of that person’s right to vote; (7) forms to register complaints about the conduct of an election shall be available at each polling place in the county. (1) cualquier persona que intente votar puede ser impugnado por un candidato, por un impugnador nombrado oficialmente por el candidato o por un partido político o para un asunto publico, o porque el impugnador tiene razón justa para creer que el votante no tiene derecho a votar; (2) los miembros de la junta del distrito y todos los impugnadores debidamente autorizados, tienen prohibición de impugnar, demorar o impedir el derecho al voto de ninguna persona, debido a su rasa, color, lugar de origen, forma del voto, residencia en un distrito en particular, en un conjunto de viviendas o en una sección de una municipalidad o condado; (3) cualquier persona que sea impugnada, tiene el derecho a tratar de establecer su derecho a votar, por medio de la firma de una declaración bajo juramento en donde testifique sobre sus cualificaciones para votar y/o con la presentación para inspección de un documento aceptable, el cual puede ser (las lista no es limitante); la licencia valida para conducir del Estado de Nueva Jersey, la muestra de una boleta electoral con el nombre y dirección del votante, un documento oficial federal, estatal, o municipal, un recibo fechado de teléfono o otros servicios públicos, o de impuestos, o de alquiler, correo con sello oficial y fechado dentro de los 60 días anteriores a la fechas de esta Elección. Al votante impugnado, se le debe entregar una copia de la declaración jurada; la junta del distrito debe determinar la validez de la impugnación por medio de una votación, de acuerdo a lo dispuesto en N.J.S.A. 19:15-24; (4) cualquier persona que es impugnada por un impugnador debidamente autorizado, puede tratar de establecer su derecho a votar con una declaración firmada bajo juramento y/o presentando las pruebas descritas en el párrafo anterior (3); la junta del distrito debe determinar la validez de la impugnación por medio de votación, de acuerdo a lo dispuesto en N.J.S.A. 19:15-24. (5) cualquier impugnador que tenga éxito en la negación del derecho al voto a un votante, debe firmar una declaración jurada donde establezca la razón por la cual el votante no tiene derecho a votar y debe darle copia de esta declaración al votante impugnado; (6) cualquier persona a quien se le niegue el derecho a votar debido a una impugnación exitosa hecha en el lugar de votación, puede solicitar una orden para votar, ante un Juez de la Corte Superior de Paterson.
