PUBLIC NOTICE - PERMIT RENEWAL Pursuant to the “Surface Mining Conservation & Reclamation Act” and “Clean Streams Law” notice is hereby given that Coal Loaders, Inc., 210 East Main Street, Ligonier, PA 15658, has made application to the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection for renewing its existing Surface Coal Mine Permit and related NPDES permit. The current SMP #56140104/NPDES #PA0279636, known as Lichty Strip was issued on 04/07/2016 and will expire on 04/07/2026. This renewal does not contain revisions to the existing operation. The receiving streams for this permit area are Unnamed Tributaries to Buffalo Creek, a cold-water fishery. The operation is located in Brothersvalley Township, Somerset County. The permit area is situated west of the village of Pine Hill along Buffalo Creek Road and Lichty Farm Road. The Berlin, PA and Murdock, PA 7.5' U.S.G.S topographic map contains the area described. A copy of the renewal application is available for public inspection at the Cambria District Office, DEP, Bureau of District Mining Operations, 286 Industrial Park Road, Ebensburg, PA 15931. Written comments, objections, or a request for public hearing or informal conference may be submitted to the District Mining Manager at the above address no later than thirty (30) days following the final publication date of this notice. Any correspondence must include the person's name, address, telephone number, and a brief statement as to the nature of the objection.
