TOWN OF BRAINTREE HISTORICAL COMMISSION
PUBLIC HEARINGS
Notice is given by the Braintree Historical Commission under the provisions of M.G.L. Chapter 40C, Sections 6, 8 and 9 and the Braintree General Bylaw Chapter 2.755 (former Chapter 12.12 of the Town Bylaws) that a public hearing for a “Certificate of Appropriateness” will be held IN PERSON on Monday May 4th, 2026, at 5:00 PM in Johnson Chambers Conference Room, located on the second level of Braintree Town Hall. The Braintree Historical Commission will consider an application from the Trustees of Thayer Academy, Applicant. The Applicant is seeking to replace the existing grass football field with an artificial turf field with associated grading and stormwater improvements. Included are also upgrades to the existing track, bleachers, scoreboard, field lighting, and other amenities.
The property is located at 745 Washington Street, Zoned Residence B, as shown on Assessors Map 1014 Plot 1. The total lot size is 23.68 acres.
