NOTICE TO BIDDERS
Tunkhannock Township, Monroe County
SEALED PROPOSALS will be accepted by the Tunkhannock Township Board of Supervisors until 12:00 P.M. on Wednesday, May 6th 2026, at the Tunkhannock Township Municipal Building, 1557 Long Pond Road, Long Pond, PA. 18334. They will be publicly opened and read aloud for the following work on Hypsie Gap Road T-633 (W) at the Tunkhannock Township Board of Supervisors Work Session at 4:00 PM on Wednesday, May 6th 2026, at the same address.
•Scarify to a depth of 6”- 1,225 lf of existing gravel road.
•Grade road base prior to placement of fill.
•Supply, deliver, grade and compact 2,080 Tons of paver spread-2A stone road base placed 12”-18” average depth (6” min. depth).
•Installation of 1,260 S.Y. of Geogrid between stations 5+00 and 9+55 across the 18’ cartway and 3’ wide shoulders (24’ total width) .
•Installation of 284 Tons of AASHTO #3 driveable shoulder material.
•The work described will occur in conjunction with drainage work by Tunkhannock Township.
All materials and workmanship must meet the requirements and standards of PennDOT Publication 408 – Specifications, and the contract documents, and bidders must be PennDOT pre-qualified for Work Class “F” Bituminous Paving.

There will be an on-site pre-bid meeting on Wednesday, April 29th at 10:00 am to review the project scope. Interested bidders are encouraged to attend.
All bids must be accompanied by a certified check or bid bond in the amount of ten (10%) percent of the bid made payable to Tunkhannock Township.
Pennsylvania Prevailing Wages apply to this contract.
The successful bidder will be required to provide Performance and Payment Bonds, each in the amount of 100% of the contract price, within 20 days of the award of the contract.
The bids will be presented to the Tunkhannock Township Board of Supervisors at the scheduled regular meeting on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, at approximately 7:00 P.M., or as soon thereafter as the agenda allows, at which time they will be considered, and the contract may be awarded.
All work must be completed by September 15, 2026; liquidated damages will apply at the rate of $975.00 per day for each calendar day beyond this date that the work remains incomplete.
The Tunkhannock Township Board of Supervisors reserves the right to accept or reject any and/or all proposals or portions thereof, and to delete projects and/ or portions of the project depending on budgetary constraints, and to waive any technicalities deemed to be in the best interest of the Township.
