Declaration of Exempt Surplus Land and Notice of Intention to Convey Fee Simple Interest in Real Property Located in The City of LaQuinta, County of Riverside, State of California, Riverside County (Assessor’s Parcel Number 762-010-007) from Riverside County Regional Park and Open Space District to the County of Riverside by Quitclaim Deed
WHEREAS, the Riverside County Regional Park and Open-Space District (“District”) acquired fee simple interest in the 20.78-acre parcel, identified as Assessor’s Parcel Number 762-010-007 as shown on the Vicinity Map in Attachment “A”, attached hereto and made apart hereof (“Property”);
WHEREAS, the Property has been determined as not required for District use or purposes;
WHEREAS, the District desires to convey the Property to the County of Riverside (“County”);
WHEREAS, park districts, including the Riverside County Regional Park and Open-Space District (District) have the authority to dispose of real property, including transferring it to other entities, provided certain conditions are met in accordance with Public Resources Code Section 5540;
WHEREAS, the Property is exempt surplus land under the Surplus Land Act, pursuant to California Government Code Section 54221(f)(1)(D) because the Property is being transferred to another local agency for the transferee agency’s use; and
WHEREAS, the County and District concur that it would be in both parties’ best interest to transfer the Property to the County, now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED, DETERMINED AND ORDERED and NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN by the Board of Directors of the County of Riverside, in regular session assembled on April 14, 2026, in the meeting room of the Board of Directors located on the 1st floor of the County Administrative Center, 4080 Lemon Street, Riverside, California, and pursuant to Section 5540 of the Public Resources Code, that this Board intends to convey on or after May 5, 2026 to the County of Riverside the following described real property: Certain fee interest in real property located in the City of La Quinta, State of California, identified with Assessor’s Parcel Number 762-010-007, as more particularly described in Attachment “B”, attached hereto and made a part hereof by Quitclaim Deed.
The Board of Directors will meet to conclude the proposed transaction on or after May 5, 2026 at 9:30 a.m. or thereafter, at the meeting room of the Board of Directors located on the 1st floor of the County Administrative Center, 4080 Lemon Street, Riverside, California.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the Clerk of the Board of Directors is directed to give notice hereof as provided in Section 6063 of the Government Code.
