CITY OF BONITA SPRINGS NOTICE OF GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION TO BE HELD NOVEMBER 3, 2026 AND CANDIDATE QUALIFYING PERIOD NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the following elected offices of the City of Bonita Springs, Florida, will be on the ballot of the General Municipal Election to be held concurrently with the Lee County General Election on November 3, 2026: Council Member - District 1 Council Member - District 3 Council Member - District 5 The candidate Qualifying Period for the 2026 City of Bonita Springs General Municipal Election begins at Noon, Monday, June 8, 2026, and ends at Noon, Friday, June 12, 2026. Individuals wishing to become a candidate must successfully qualify with the City of Bonita Springs City Clerk before the close of the qualifying period, during regular office hours (8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., Monday - Friday), at the following location: City of Bonita Springs City Hall Office of the City Clerk 9101 Bonita Beach Road, SE Bonita Springs, Florida 34135 (239) 949-6248 Candidates must meet all qualifying requirements stipulated in the Bonita Springs City Charter and in State of Florida Election Laws, which includes the following: Individuals qualifying for any City Council seat shall have been legal residents and registered voters of the particular district for a minimum of six months immediately preceding the commencement of the term of office. Qualifying requirements also include the timely and correct filing of all candidate-qualifying forms and items required by Florida law and the Bonita Springs City Charter, and payment of all required fees. In order to be deemed timely filed, all qualifying items must be complete and accurate, and must be physically received by the City Clerk at his physical location by the close of the qualifying period. Candidate qualifying forms are available at the Bonita Springs City Clerk's Office or may be obtained from the websites of the Florida Division of Elections and the Lee County Supervisor of Elections. The names of qualified municipal candidates will appear on the ballot of the November 3, 2026 General Municipal Election.
