ORDINANCE NO. 2026-04-01
AN ORDINANCE OF THE TOWN OF OCHELATA, OKLAHOMA, A MUNICIPAL CORPORATION, REVISING "SECTION 1-2 OF ARTICLE 2 OF THE OCHELATA CODE OF ORDINANCES, TITLED 'TIME OF REGULAR MEETINGS OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES' ; PROVIDING FOR REGULAR MEETINGS HELD ON THE 2nd THURSDAY OF EACH MONTH AT 7:00 P.M.; PROVIDING THAT IF SUCH THURSDAY FALLS ON A HOLIDAY, THE REGULAR MEETING SHALL BE HELD AT THAT TIME ON THE NEXT DAY WHICH IS NOT A HOLIDAY.
WHEREAS, by majority vote of the Board of Trustees at a regular meeting on the 13th day of April, 2026 it was determined to be in the best interest of the citizens to have a revision of Time of Regular Meetings of the Board of Trustees.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Trustees of the Town of Ochelata, Oklahoma, meeting in regular session at Town Hall, Ochelata, Oklahoma, on this 13th day of April, 2026 that the Time of Regular Meetings of the Board of Trustees shall be revised to provide that Regular Meetings shall henceforth be held on the 2nd Thursday of each month at 7:00 p.m., provided that if such
Thursday falls on a holiday, the regular meeting shall be held at that time on the next day which is not a holiday.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE Mayor and the Board of Trustees of the Town of Ochelata, Washington County, Oklahoma, meeting at Town Hall in regular session on this 13th day of April, 2026, as follows:
Section One (1): The following Section 1-2 is hereby revised in its entirety, restated, and is hereby approved, ordained, established and codified into the Code of Ordinances of the Town of Ochelata, Oklahoma, as follows, to-wit:
TIME OF REGULAR MEETINGS OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES
1-2. The Board of Trustees of the Town of Ochelata, Oklahoma, shall hold regular meetings on the 2nd Thursday of each month at 7:00 p.m., provided that if such Thursday falls on a holiday, the regular meeting shall be held at that time on the next day which is not a holiday.
Section Two (2): Severability. If any provision, section, subsection, sentence, clause, phrase or other portion of this Ordinance or the application thereof to any person or circumstance is held to be unconstitutional, illegal or in conflict, by a Court of competent jurisdiction, or by any federal agency, the remainder of this Ordinance, and the application of such provisions to other persons and circumstances shall not be affected thereby, and to this end, such portion of the Ordinance shall be deemed a separate, distinct and independent provision and not affecting the validity of the remainder of this Ordinance.
Section Three (3): Repealer. Any Ordinance or Code provision, or parts thereof, in conflict with this Ordinance are to that extent hereby repealed.
Section Four (4): Effective Date. Following the passage and approval of this ordinance, same shall be effective as of the 13th day of April, 2026.
