NOTICE TO CUSTOMERS OF LIBERTY UTILITIES (NEW YORK WATER) CORP. NOTICE OF TARIFF AMENDMENT - EXTREME HEAT CUSTOMER PROTECTIONS NEW YORK STATE PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISSION - CASE 24-M-0586 Liberty Utilities (New York Water) Corp. (Liberty NYW or the Company) hereby provides notice that the New York State Public Service Commission (Commission) issued an Order in Case 24-M-0586 adopting uniform customer protections during periods of extreme heat and directing New York water utilities, including Liberty NYW, to amend their tariffs accordingly. What is changing Liberty NYW has filed tariff amendments to P.S.C. No. 1 - Water to add / reflect Extreme Heat Protection procedures. In summary, the tariff amendments provide that Liberty NYW will temporarily halt terminations / disconnections of water service for non-payment for Residential Customers and customers with Residential End-Users in a geographic region when an Extreme Heat Event occurs or is forecast to occur. An Extreme Heat Event is generally defined as any day when the heat index is forecast to be, or actually is, 90°F or higher (based on the applicable forecast / actual heat index information). In addition, for customers located within designated Heat Island areas, the tariff amendments provide for an extended suspension of terminations for two (2) days following a day on which the heat index actually reached or exceeded the Extreme Heat Event threshold. Effective date These tariff amendments are scheduled to become effective June 1, 2026. Where you can review the tariff amendments A copy of Liberty NYW's tariff (P.S.C. No. 1 - Water), including these amendments, is available for public inspection online through the NYS Department of Public Service's Documents and Matters Management (DMM) system (https://dps.ny.gov/).
