NOTICE OF APPLICATION FOR JUDICIAL DISSOLUTION
PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that upon the verified petition of Sloatsburg Community Ambulance Corps., Inc., and Sloatsburg Volunteer Ambulance Corps. , an application has been made to the Supreme Court of the State of New York, County of Rockland, at the Courthouse located at 1 South Main Street, New City, New York, for an Order dissolving SLOATSBURG AMBULANCE CORPS, INC. and Sloatsburg Volunteer Ambulance Corps. (the “Corporation”), pursuant to Not-for-Profit Corporation Law § 1100 et seq.
The Corporation, a not-for-profit entity formerly providing ambulance and emergency services in the Town of Ramapo, ceased operations in or about 2020 and is no longer conducting business.
The known assets of the Corporation include: (i) real property located at 62 Washington Avenue, Sloatsburg, New York (the “Property”); and (ii) one ambulance vehicle.
PLEASE TAKE FURTHER NOTICE that the application will be heard at the Rockland County Courthouse, 1 South Main Street, New City, New York, on the 3rd day of June, 2026, at 2:00 p.m., or as soon thereafter as counsel may be heard.
Persons having an interest in the Corporation, including current or former officers, directors, members, creditors, claimants or anyone with whom the Corporation has unfulfilled claims, or any other person having an interest in the Corporation or its assets, who wishes to be heard in opposition to or in support of the application, shall appear at such time and place or submit written comments to the Court prior thereto.
The purpose of the application is to obtain an Order: (1) dissolving the Corporation; (2) directing the disposition of its remaining assets to the Town of Ramapo in accordance with law; with a deed restriction and covenant that the Property shall be used exclusively for ambulance services and emergency first-aid medical services in perpetuity; and (3) granting such other and further relief as the Court may deem just and proper.
