WEA TWP FIRE DEPT BUNK ROOM ADDITION
PROJECT INFORMATION: Bidders may submit bids for project as described in this Document. Submit bids according to the Instructions to Bidders. The State of Indiana Law and regulations shall govern submittal, opening, and award of bids.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Project consists of two different buildings on the same lot. Building #1 is an approximately 1190 SF two-story bunk room addition with approximately seven sleeping rooms. Exterior walls to be constructed as CMU walls with brick veneer. Roof system consists of wood trusses and low-slope membrane roof to match existing roof system. Interior walls and floors will be wood with drywall finishes. Building #2 consists of an approximately 200 SF renovation to the existing training room converting the space into a new office for the Fire Chief. Work will include HVAC and electrical work at both buildings and other work as indicated in the Contract Documents.
COST RANGE: Anticipated to be under $500,000.00
PROJECT SCHEDULE: Start date is anticipated to be no later than July 13, 2026 with completion date of October 16, 2026.
Construction Contract: Bids will be received for the following Work: General Contract (all trades).
BID SUBMITTAL AND OPENING: Owner will receive sealed lump sum bids until the bid time and date at the location given below. Owner will consider bids prepared in compliance with the Instructions to Bidders issued by Owner, and delivered as follows:
BID DATE/BID TIME: June 16, 2026 at 3:00 p.m. local time
BID LOCATION: Wea Recreation Center, 2000 Wea School Rd, Lafayette, IN. Bids will be thereafter publicly opened and read aloud.
BID SECURITY: Bid security shall be submitted with each bid in the amount of 5% of the bid amount. No bids may be withdrawn for a period of 60 days after opening of bids. Owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive informalities and irregularities.
PREBID MEETING: A Prebid meeting for all bidders will be held at Wea Twp Fire Dept located at 1400 Wea School Rd, Lafayette, IN on Tuesday, June 2, 2026 at 3:00 p.m., local time. Prospective prime bidders are requested to attend. Architect will provide responses at Prebid meeting to bidders' questions received up to two business days prior to meeting.
DOCUMENTS: Printed Plans and Project Specifications: Obtain after May 11, 2026, by contacting Blue Print Specialties at 1500 Union Street, Lafayette, IN 47904 or by calling (765) 742-6976. Requestor of printed documents will pay all costs charged by Blue Print Specialties. Electronic Plans and Project Specifications can be obtained after May 11, 2026, by contacting KJG Architecture, Inc. 527 Sagamore Pkwy W, West Lafayette, IN 47906 or by e-mailing ca@kjgarchitecture.com. All those requesting Bidding Documents must submit the following information: Company Name, Company Address, Name of Contact Person, Phone No., including extension and email address. This information will be used to make the Plan Holders List. The Plan Holders List is used to send out addendum information. All electronic documents will be sent as PDFs only. Viewing Plans and Project Specifications: Examine after May 11, 2026, at these locations: KJG Architecture, Inc., 527 Sagamore Pkwy W. TIME OF COMPLETION: Successful bidder shall begin the Work on receipt of the Notice to Proceed and shall complete the Work within the Contract Time. Substantial completion of the work shall be attained no later than 3:00 p.m. local time on October 16, 2026.
BIDDER'S QUALIFICATIONS: Bidders must be properly licensed under the laws governing their respective trades and be able to obtain insurance and bonds required for the Work. A Performance Bond, separate Labor and Material Payment Bond, and Insurance in a form acceptable to Owner will be required of the successful Bidder.
