The regular meeting of the Lafourche Parish Fire Protection District Number Three Board of Commissioners was held on Tuesday, April 28, 2026. The meeting took place at the Lafourche Parish Fire District 3 Training Building in Cut Off. Chairman Reggie Pitre called the meeting to order at 6:31 PM.PLEDGE TO THE AMERICAN FLAG: Chairman Pitre led the pledge to our flag. ROLL CALL OF COMMISSIONERS: Chairman Reggie Pitre–Present; Vice-Chairman Dean Savoie–Present; Commissioner Morris Guidry–Absent; Commissioner Aaron Montez–Present; Commissioner Troy Dufrene–Absent.APPROVAL OF BOARD MEETING MINUTES: Commissioner Savoie moved to accept the minutes of the March 31, 2026, Regular Board Meeting, as written, seconded by Commissioner Montez. No public comments.Vote held: Commissioner Savoie–Yea; Commissioner Dufrene-Absent; Commissioner Montez- Yea; Commissioner Guidry- Absent. OLD BUSINESS: Benjamin Rath discussed Hurricane Ida recovery. He presented Pay App 2 for South Golden Meadow Station rebuild for Freetown builders in the amount of $26,362.65. Commissioner Savoie moved to accept and pay the Pay App and it was seconded by Commissioner Montez.NEW BUSINESS: Chairman Pitre read Resolution 2026-0428 to accept the millage rates for this year. Millage rates in the amount of 8.97 and 7.0 mills were adopted. Commissioner Savoie motioned to renew the contract, seconded by Montez. Vote held: Commissioner Savoie–Yea; Commissioner Dufrene-Absent; Commissioner Montez- Yea; Commissioner Guidry- Absent. Chairman Pitre brought up scheduling the Budget hearing for next month's board meeting. Budget hearing was scheduled for May 19, 2026 at 6:15 PM. Commissioner Savoie motioned to schedule the budget hearing, seconded by Montez.Vote held: Commissioner Savoie–Yea; Commissioner Dufrene-Absent; Commissioner Montez- Yea; Commissioner Guidry- Absent. FIRE CHIEF'S REPORT: LPFD3 sent 2 more firefighters to ICS 400 at Texas A&M. Four personnel went to a Motorola conference in Florida. Five firefighters also attended a USAR training in New Orleans. Chief Dedon brought up employee benefits and looking at ways to keep employees in our Department that we have trained for years. Retirement match is going down which will allow us to look into other options to keep employees here. COMMUNICATION'S REPORT: Mary St Pierre advised 70 fire calls and 278 ambulance calls so far this month. St Pierre discussed the conference in Florida and the large project ahead to switch over to Motorola CAD. MECHANIC'S REPORT: Master Mechanic Ryan Pitre was not in attendance.CHAIRMAN'S REPORT: Chairman Pitre advised to stay safe and hydrated. Summer is on the way!
