NOTICE OF MEETINGS TO THE OWNERS AND ALL PERSONS INTERESTED IN LANDS WITHIN THE WEST LAKELAND WATER CONTROL DISTRICT
NOTICE OF LANDOWNERS
MEETING AND NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING TO ADOPT THE FISCAL YEAR 2027 BUDGET
Notice is hereby given that the annual meeting of the owners of lands situated in the West Lakeland Water Control District has been called and will be held on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., at The Ruthvens, located at 41 Lake Morton Drive, Lakeland, Florida 33801, for the purposes of electing one Supervisor to a Board of three to be composed of owners of the lands in said District. The meeting shall be conducted, and such business shall be transacted as provided in Section 298.01, Florida Statutes. Any landowner within the District, who desires to be considered for appointment to the Board may submit an application to the District Office, 313 Campus Street, Celebration, Florida 34747, or email Jennifer.Goldyn@Inframark.com (“District Office”).
Immediately following the landowners meeting, the Board of Supervisors of the West Lakeland Water Control District will hold a public hearing, for the purposes of hearing comments and objections on the adoption of the budget for the operation and maintenance of District facilities for fiscal year 2027, which begins October 1, 2026, and concludes September 30, 2027. In addition, the Board will hear public comment and objections relative to the imposition and levy of a non-ad valorem assessment pursuant to Florida Law for the purposes of funding operations, maintenance, principal, and interest expenses of the District. The District may also fund various facilities through the collection of certain rates, fees, and charges which are identified within the budget. A copy of the budget may be obtained at the District Office (identified above) during normal business hours. The Board will also consider any other business which may properly come before it. The public hearing and meeting may be continued to a date, time, and location to be specified on the record at the hearing or meeting without further publication of notice. The public hearing and meeting are open to the public and will be conducted in accordance with the provisions of Florida Law for water control districts.

Each person who decides to appeal any decision made by the Board with respect to any matter considered at the meeting is advised that person will need a record of the proceedings and accordingly, the person may need to ensure a verbatim record of the proceedings is made, including the testimony and evidence upon which such appeal is to be based.
