NOTICE TO TAXPAYERS REGARDING A DETERMINATION
OF THE METROPOLITAN SCHOOL DISTRICT OF DECATUR TOWNSHIP, MARION COUNTY, INDIANA, TO ENTER INTO A PROPOSED SIXTH AMENDMENT TO LEASE OF FACILITIES OPERATED BY THE SCHOOL CORPORATION
The taxpayers of the Metropolitan School District of Decatur Township, Marion County, Indiana (the “School Corporation”), are hereby notified that on May 12, 2026, the Board of Education of the School Corporation (the “Board”) did adopt a resolution determining that the School Corporation will take all ac-tions necessary to enter into a sixth amendment to an existing lease (the “Sixth Amendment to Lease”), between the Decatur Township Multi-School Building Corporation (the “Building Cor-poration”), as lessor, and the School Corporation, as lessee, which in turn will allow the Building Corporation to issue one or more series of first mortgage bonds (the “Bonds”), payable from the lease rentals received from the School Corporation pursuant to the terms of the proposed Sixth Amendment to Lease. The Bonds may be issued in one or more series or issues in the original aggregate principal amount not to exceed Twenty Million Six Hundred Five Thousand Dollars ($19,200,000) (less the principal amount of any general obligation bonds issued by the School Corporation to fund a portion of the costs of the 2026-2030 District-Wide Long-Term Capital Maintenance and Equipment/ Vehicle/Bus Acquisition Project), with a maximum term not to exceed twenty (20) years, and bearing interest at a rate or rates which produce a yield not exceeding seven percent (7.00%) per annum, the exact rate or rates to be determined by negotiation.
The lease, as amended by the Sixth Amendment to Lease (collectively, the “Lease”), will have a maximum term not to exceed twenty-two (22) calendar years from the date it is recorded (which is eighteen (18) years after the end of the current final term of the Lease, assuming the proposed Sixth Amendment to Lease is recorded no later than December 31, 2026), and will provide for an additional annual lease rental not to exceed $10,000,000 (less the annual debt service paid with respect to any general obligation bonds issued by the School Corporation to fund a portion of the costs of the 2026-2030 District-Wide Long-Term Capital Maintenance and Equipment/Vehicle/Bus Acquisition Project), payable in semiannual installments.
