ORDER FOR PUBLICATION
In this cause, it appears to the Court from the allegations of the Petition that the Department of Children's Services is seeking to declare Baby Böy Knox an abandoned and voluntarily delivered child pursuant to T.C.A. SS 68-11-255, 36-1142, and 36-1-102(a)(A)(v). The child was born on May 8 th, 2026, in Knoxville, Tennessee; he has black hair and brown eyes and weighed 6 lbs and 5.9 ounces; he appears to be of Hispanic descent. The mother voluntarily delivered the child to UT Medical Center on May 8 th, 2026. The whereabouts and identities of the mother and father are unknown, or if known, wish to be anonymous, and therefore, pursuant to T.C.A. S 36-1-142(e), ordinary of process of law cannot be served upon them.
It is, therefore, ORDERED that the biological mother and alleged biological father be served by publication of the following notice for four (4) consecutive weeks in the Knoxville Nezos Sentinel, a newspaper of general circulation published in Knox County, Tennessee.
It is further ORDERED that if the biological mother or alleged biological father fail to enter an appearance or otherwise answer the petition, service of any future notices, motions, orders, or other legal documents in this matter may be made by filing the same with the Clerk of the Juvenile Court of Knox County, Tennessee.
NOTICE TO BIOLOGICAL MOTHER OF BABY BOY KNOX:
The Department of Children's Services has filed a petition seeking to declare Baby Boy Knox an abandoned child, to terminate your parental rights, and to free this child for adoption. If you fail to seek contact with the child through the Department of Children's Services or to revoke the voluntary delivery within thirty (30) days of the last date of publication, your failure shall constitute abandonment of the child and of your interests and shall constitute grounds for termination of your parental rights.
NOTICE TO ALLEGED BIOLOGICAL FATHER of BABY BOY KNOX:
The Department of Children's Services has filed a petition seeking to declare Baby Boy Knox an abandoned child, to terminate your parental rights, and to free this child for adoption. If you fail to contact the Department of Children's Services or to register on the putative father registry within thirty (30) days of the last date of publication, your failure shall result in your being barred from pursuing any action to establish paternity of this child, shall constitute abandonment of any right to notice of or participation in any judicial proceeding for adoption of this child, and shall eliminate any requirement that you consent to that adoption.
A hearing on this petition has been set for October 20, 2026 at 9 a.m. in the Juvenile Court of Knox County, Tennessee, in Knoxville. A copy of the Petition may be obtained at the Office of the Knox County Juvenile Court Clerk.
