Notice of Public Hearing Notice is hereby given by the Mayor and Council of the Town of Smithsburg, as its duly constituted legislative body, that two (2) Public Hearings will be held in Council Chambers, Town Hall, on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, beginning at 7:00 P.M. The hearings are being scheduled pursuant to the provisions of the Annotated Code of Maryland and the Charter of the Town of Smithsburg, to consider whether or not to adopt the proposed FY 2026-27 Budget and the Proposed Water/Sewer/Refuse Rate increases. 1. The Public Hearing for the consideration of the adoption of the Proposed FY 2026-27 Budget will be held at 7:00 P.M. on June 2, 2026. 2. The Public Hearing for the consideration of a change to the Water/ Sewer/Refuse Rates for FY 2026-27 will be held immediately following on June 2, 2026. A complete copy of said proposed Budget and Water/Sewer/Refuse documents are on file in the Office of the Town Manager, Town Hall, Smithsburg, Maryland. Same may be copied or inspected in that office and same are incorporated herein by reference and made a part hereof for convenience and economy. Pursuant to the Maryland Open Meetings Law, notice is hereby given that the deliberations of the Mayor and Council are open to the public. The intent is that the determination for introduction will be made at the Meeting of the Mayor & Council to be held on June 2, 2026. Any comments prior to the Public Hearing submitted by 12:00 P.M., May 28, 2026, will be made part of the Record of the Public Hearing.
