NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING CITY OF AMES, IOWA 2025-26 ASPHALT STREET PAVEMENT IMPROVEMENTS PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT PUBLIC IMPROVEMENT PROJECT The City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, will meet on June 9, 2026, in the Council Chambers at City Hall, 515 Clark Avenue, Ames, Iowa, at 6:00 p.m., at which time it will hear objections to the plans, specifications, form of contract, and cost estimate for 2025/26 Asphalt Street Pavement Improvements (Hillcrest Ave, Ellis St, Kentucky Ave, Illinois Ave, Indiana Ave, Oklahoma Dr, and Delaware Ave) Project. The general nature of the work is: 28,377 SY of pavement removal, 16,494 LF of curb and gutter, 3898 TON of HMA base course, 5268 TON of HMA intermediate and surface course, 597 LF of 8" PVC water main, 13,193 LF of 6" subdrain, storm sewer intake and manhole replacement, sanitary manhole replacement, major and minor structure adjustments and miscellaneous related work and appurtenances in accordance with the contract documents. Refer to sheet C.01 in the plans for item specifics and quantities. After receiving objections, the City may enter into a contract for the performance of the improvements.
