Village of Chester   TAX COLLECTION NOTICE   PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that I, the undersigned Tax Collector for the Village of Chester, Orange County, New York, have duly received the tax roll and warrant for the collection of property taxes within the Village of Chester for the fiscal year June 1, 2026, through May 31, 2027. Except for Saturdays, Sundays, and Holidays, I will receive tax payments by mail, in person at the address noted below Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM. Tax payments are only accepted as one payment in full (no partial payments) made payable to the Village of Chester by check, money order, cash, or credit card.   TAKE FURTHER NOTICE that such taxes may be paid on or before June 30, 2026, without additional penalty/interest. On all such taxes remaining unpaid after July 1, 2026, there shall be added interest/penalty of five (5) percent if paid on or before August 1, 2026; six (6) percent if paid on or before September 1, 2026; seven (7) percent if paid on or before October 1, 2026; and eight (8) percent if paid on or before October 31, 2026. Final date for tax payments to the Village Collector is October 31, 2026; and after such date must be paid to the Commissioner of Finance, Orange County Government Center, Tax & Finance Dept., 255 Main Street, Goshen, NY 10924. The Commissioner of Finance will only accept certified checks, bank checks or money orders (no personal checks) through November 15, 2026.
