NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING BEREA PUBLIC SERVICE DISTRICT FISCAL YEAR 2026-2027 OPERATING BUDGET Notice is hereby given that a public hearing will be held before the Berea Public Service District Commission, the governing body of the Berea Public Service District, at 5:45 p.m. on Monday, the 18th day of May, 2026. The hearing will be held at the offices of Berea Public Service District, which are located at 7401 White Horse Rd., Greenville, SC 29611. The purpose of the public hearing will be to allow members of the public to express their views regarding the proposed operating budget for Berea Public Service District for the Fiscal Year 2026-2027. All persons who attend will be given the opportunity to speak. As required by Section 6-10-80 of the South Carolina Code of Laws, 1976, as amended, the public is advised of the following: 1. The budget of Berea Public Service District for the current Fiscal Year calls for tax revenues of $5,954,177 and expenditures of $6,004,629. 2. The proposed budget of Berea Public Service District for Fiscal Year 2026-2027 calls for tax revenues of $5,940,682 and expenditures of $6,270,185. 3. The proposed revenues for the Fiscal Year 2026-2027 operating budget of Berea Public Service District represent no millage increase, pursuant to Section 6-1-320 of the South Carolina Code of Laws. 4. Ad valorem property taxes in the amount of 77.4 mills were levied in the current Fiscal Year to meet operational needs of the Berea Public Service District. 5. The Berea Public Service District Commission estimates that an ad valorem property tax levy of 77.4 mills will be necessary to meet revenues required by the Fiscal Year 2026-2027 operating budget of Berea Public Service District. For purposes of illustration, 77.4 mills would result in ad valorem property taxes in the amount of $619.20 levied against an owner-occupied home with an assessed value of $200,000.
