BEFORE THE UTILITIES COMMISSION OF THE STATE OF IOWA TO THE CITIZENS OF LINN, JOHNSON, AND MUSCATINE COUNTIES:
Notice is given that ITC Midwest LLC, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, pursuant to Iowa Code chapter 478, has filed a petition with the Iowa Utilities Commission (IUC) for a franchise to erect, maintain, and operate an electric transmission line in Linn, Johnson, and Muscatine counties and that the petition sets forth the following maximum voltage, starting points, routes, and termini of the proposed line:

The north end point of the 345 kV line is at a point of electrical connection with an ITC Midwest LLC (ITC) electric transmission line located in the Northwest Quarter of the Northeast Quarter of Section 2, Township 81 North, Range 6 West of the 5th Principal Meridian, Johnson County, Iowa, and the north terminus of the 345 kV transmission line is at a point of electrical connection within ITC's Beverly Transmission Substation located in the Northwest Quarter of the Northeast Quarter of Section 7, Township 82 North, Range 7 West of the 5th Principal Meridian, Linn County, Iowa, within the City of Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
The south end point end point of this line is at a point of electrical connection with an ITC electric transmission line located near the east quarter corner of Section 24, Township 78 North, Range 5 West of the 5th Principal Meridian, Johnson County, Iowa, and the south terminus of the 345 kV line is at a point of electrical connection with an ITC electric transmission line within MidAmerican Energy Company's (MEC) Hills Substation located in the Southeast Quarter of the Southwest Quarter of Section 10, Township 78 North, Range 6 West of the 5th Principal Meridian, Johnson County, Iowa.
This line begins at a point of electrical connection with an ITC electric transmission line located on the Johnson-Linn County line near the center of Seven Sisters Road, approximately 0.00 mile south and 0.27 mile west of the northeast corner of Section 2, Township 81 North, Range 6 West of the 5th Principal Meridian, Johnson County, Iowa; thence southeasterly on private property through the east half of the Northeast Quarter of said Section 2, the west half of Section 1, said township and range, crossing Seven Sisters Road, Iowa State Highway 1, and 110th Street, to a point on private property approximately 0.25 north and 0.25 east of the southwest corner of said Section 1, for a distance of approximately 0.88 mile; thence southeasterly on private property through the Southwest Quarter of said Section 1, and the north half of Section 12, crossing 120th Street (a.k.a. County Highway F12), to a point on private property approximately 0.01 mile north and 0.00 mile east of the center of said Section 12, for a distance of approximately 0.79 mile; thence southeasterly on private property through the south half of said Section 12, the Northeast Quarter of Section 13, said township and range, and the west half of Section 18, Township 81 North, Range 5 West of the 5th Principal Meridian, Johnson County, Iowa, crossing 140th street and Mill Creek, to a point on private property approximately 0.21 mile north and 0.00 mile west of the south quarter corner of said Section 18, for a distance of approximately 1.60 miles; thence south on private property along the north-south centerline of said Section 18 and Sections 19, said township and range, crossing Sutliff Road (a.k.a. County Highway X14), White Oak Avenue and Big Slough, to a point of electrical connection with an ITC electric transmission line located near the center of the public road right of way of Johnson Muscatine Road on the Johnson-Muscatine County line approximately 0.00 mile north and 0.00 mile west of the east quarter corner of said Section 24, for a distance of approximately 4.02 miles. The total distance of this line segment is approximately 26.60 miles.

The IUC has established the hearing time, date, and place as 9:00 a.m. on July 7, 2026, at the Highlander Hotel, 2525 Highlander Pl, Iowa City, IA 52245.

Objections to the granting of the franchise may be filed electronically using EFS or filed in writing with the IUC no later than 20 days after the date of second publication of this notice.
