PUBLIC NOTICE
Notice of a public hearings is hereby given pursuant to the provisions of the Pennsylvania Municipalities Planning Code (Act 247 and 170 as amended) and the Greene Township Code (as amended). The purpose of said public hearings is for the Greene Township Zoning Hearing Board to hear the following: Request #1, submitted by Jane Chontos. P.O. Box 58, Scotland, PA 17254 for property located at 1149 Fiddlers Road, Chambersburg. Property is located in the CC (Community Commercial) Zoning District. Applicant is requesting a variance in the approximate amount of 3’ from the 25’ minimum required setback distance measured from the road right of way line. Proposed is construction of a front porch / deck. Request is in reference to Greene Township Code 105-21. Request #2, submitted by Zachary Frack, 4522 Valley Circle, Fayetteville, PA 17222. Property is located in the R-2 (Medium Density Residential) Zoning District. Applicant has placed a storage shed and is requesting a variance in the approximate amount of 3’- 8” from the 5’ minimum required setback distance measured from the left side property line. Request is in reference to Greene Township Code 105-25.A(2). Request #3, submitted by RNR Group LLC, 2796 Leitersburg Road, Waynesboro, PA 17268 for property located at 770 Olde Walker Road, Chambersburg, PA 17202. Property is located in the Exit 17 Interchange Overlay within the TC (Transitional Commercial) Zoning District. The current use of the property (Franklin Tractor & Equipment) as a farm equipment sales and service is a nonconforming use in the TC and Overlay District. Applicant proposes expansion of their existing building as well as construction of an accessory storage building. Requested is approval to expand the nonconforming use as well as for the expansion to be in excess of 30% of the existing nonconformance. Request is in reference to Greene Township Code 105-46.D(1).
The public hearings on these requests will begin at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 4, 2026 in the Greene Township Building Meeting Room, 1145 Garver Lane, Chambersburg, PA 17202.
