DES MOINES METROPOLITAN WASTEWATER RECLAMATION AUTHORITY PUBLIC IMPROVEMENT PROJECT
Public Hearing on Proposed Contract Documents and Estimated Costs for Improvement. A public hearing will be held by the Des Moines Metropolitan Wastewater Reclamation Authority Board on the proposed contract documents (plans, specifications and form of contract) on file in the City Engineer's Office, and estimated cost for each improvement at its meeting on July 21, 2026, at 1:30 p.m., in the Burnham Conference Room, Des Moines Metropolitan Planning Organization, 420 Watson Powell Jr. Way, Suite #200, Des Moines, Iowa. The Des Moines Metropolitan Wastewater Reclamation Authority Board Meetings are open to all individuals regardless of disability. To better serve you, please notify the Board Secretary at least three business days in advance, when possible, should special accommodations be required.
WRF Building 73 Generator Improvements, 042026021
The improvement includes two additional engine generators, generator accessories and ventilation in Building 73 including mechanical, electrical, architectural, structural, switchgear, networking and control modifications, all necessary materials, equipment, labor, and miscellaneous associated work and cleanup, all in accordance with the contract documents including Plan File No. 682-102/138, located at the Wastewater Reclamation Facility, 3000 Vandalia Road, Des Moines, Iowa
WRF Building 75 Boilers and Heat Loop Improvements, 042026022
This improvement includes phased replacement of existing boilers, hot water circulation pumps, mechanical equipment, associated piping, controls, electrical, Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) screen updates, and appurtenances, with provisions to maintain operation during construction, all in accordance with the contract documents including Plan File No. 682-013/101, located in Buildings 75, 90, 801, 802, and 803 at the Wastewater Reclamation Facility, 3000 Vandalia Road, Des Moines, Iowa
WRA Polk City South Pump Station Rehabilitation, 042026024
This improvement includes rehabilitation of the WRA Polk City South Pump Station and includes lining of the wet well, manhole lining, sewage bypass, temporary traffic control, and surface restoration, all in accordance with the contract documents including Plan File No. 682-001/009, located at or near 1315 S 14th Street, Polk City, Iowa
