NOTICE - REQUEST FOR QUALIFICATIONS (RFQ) H.A.N.D.S. of Central Florida, Inc. is seeking credentials from Qualified Home Builders and Residential General Contractor(s), no later than June 11, 2026, to construct two (total) single-family detached homes at the following locations: 1124 Avenue D and 1128 Avenue D, Haines City, FL 33844. Contractors seeking to register with HANDS should send an email expressing their interest to Bobby Tedder, HANDS Deputy Director, via email at bobby@cflhands.org. An application and the list of required documents will be sent in return. Once vetted, contractors will receive the project bid packet and construction documents. State registered or State-certified General, Building, or Residential Contractors licenses will be required. This individual project assignment will be awarded by HANDS. Direct awards and Invitations to Bid will be limited to ONLY those contractors that are registered and determined to be qualified. A Mandatory Pre-Bid Conference to discuss this project will be held at the construction site on June 15, 2026. Delivery of sealed bids are due no later than July 2, 2026 at 1 p.m. prompt, at the HANDS of Central Florida, Inc. Construction Office located at 825 E. Main St (2nd floor), Lakeland FL 33801. Both homes are required to be completed by January 29, 2027. Please note: The above properties' relatively close proximity to an active railroad requires that specified noise and vibration mitigation materials and techniques be incorporated into the building process. The proposed project is funded by the federal HOME Investment Partnerships Program, administered by Polk County. Bids will be considered from qualified contractor(s) that demonstrate experience and success in completing similar type of projects.
