Village of Cornwall-on-Hudson Stormwater Program
The Village of Cornwall-on-Hudson participates in New York State's Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System program, known as MS4. This state-mandated program requires municipalities to actively reduce pollutants from entering local waterways through the storm sewer system.
Unlike the sanitary sewer, storm drains discharge directly into local streams and the Hudson River without treatment. Anything that enters a storm drain — yard waste, motor oil, or litter — has the potential to harm water quality downstream. Residents can help by keeping debris out of storm drains and reporting any suspicious discharges to the Village DPW.
The DPW will have an informational table at Riverfest on Saturday, June 7th. Stop by with any questions about the program or how you can help protect our local waterways.
