LEGAL NOTICE OF FILING FOR A CHANGE IN WATER RATES BY WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP WATER AUTHORITY
Notice is hereby given that Washington Township Water Authority under and pursuant to the Public Service Commission Act, as amended, has filed with the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission an increase in the schedule of rates and charges for water sold by its water utility in the amount not to exceed $1.06 per 1,000 gallons, which was calculated based on the terms of the Joint Stipulation and Settlement Agreement filed in Cause No. 46330 on May 14, 2026. The increase will be effective simultaneously with Bloomington Indiana's Water Rate Increase, which is yet to be approved by the Commission.
This utility purchases all of its water from the City of Bloomington, Indiana, and Bloomington has petitioned the Commission for an increase in its water rates. Bloomington's rate request has not yet been ruled on by the Commission. The Commission is schedule to have a public hearing on Bloomington's rate increase on Tuesday June 2. The changes to the schedule of rates and charges submitted are based on the Joint Stipulation and Settlement Agreement filed in Cause No. 46330 on May 14, 2026. However, the change will be adjusted to reflect the rate increase the Commission approves for Bloomington. The rate changes shall apply for the next practical consumption period following final approval by the Commission in accordance with IC 8- I -2-42.
