Liberty Utilities (New York Water) Corp. NOTICE OF PROPOSED RATE INCREASE
On May 29, 2026, Liberty Utilities (New York Water) Corp. (the Company) filed with the New York State Public Service Commission (Commission) proposed changes to its tariff, P.S.C. No.1 - Water, together with supporting data. The proposed changes would increase the Company's revenues by $24,587,679 or 21.87% in Service Area 1 (SA1) and by $13,524,461 (or 30.14%) in Service Area 2 (SA2) for the 12-month rate year ending April 30, 2028. The major drivers of the revenue increase include, but are not limited to, increased plant investment, increased operations and maintenance expenses, and higher property taxes and income taxes. The requested increase will increase the average monthly residential water bill by $27.77 (or 28.30%) in SA1 districts other than New Vernon and $35.47 (or 59.35%) in the New Vernon district. In the SA2 districts, the average monthly water bill for a residential customer will increase by approximately $26.89 (or 29.71%) in the Sea Cliff district and $21.20 (or 36.99%) in the Merrick district. The Company's proposal will take effect May 1, 2027, subject to approval by the Commission. The Commission may approve, modify, or reject any or all of the proposed tariff changes.
