NOTICE Notice is hereby given by the Borough Council of the Borough of Shippensburg, Cumberland and Franklin Counties, Pennsylvania that it will hold a public hearing on June 16, 2026 beginning at 6:00 p.m. at the Borough Office at 111 North Fayette Street, Shippensburg, Pennsylvania to receive public comment on a Zoning Ordinance Amendment which would amend Chapter 150 of the Code of the Borough of Shippensburg, which ordinance is summarized below, and to consider for adoption and vote upon the enactment of the ordinance summarized below at its regularly scheduled meeting at 6:00 p.m. on June 16, 2026, at said Borough Office. The title and summary of the proposed ordinance amending the Zoning Ordinance of the Borough of Shippensburg is as follows: AN ORDINANCE OF THE BOROUGH OF SHIPPENSBURG, CUMBERLAND AND FRANKLIN COUNTIES, PENNSYLVANIA, AMENDING CHAPTER 150 OF THE CODE OF THE BOROUGH OF SHIPPENSBURG, ENTITLED “ZONING”, BY: (1) AMENDING SECTION 150-134 TO ADD DEFINITIONS RELATING TO THE USE AND REGULATION OF “SKILL GAME PARLOR”; (2) AMENDING SECTION 150-20.1(B)(1) TO ADD “SKILL GAME PARLOR” AS A PERMITTED USE IN THE TRANSITIONAL-COMMERCIAL (T-C) DISTRICTS, INCLUDING THE TRANSITIONAL-COMMERCIAL EAST (T-C EAST) AND TRANSITIONAL COMMERCIAL (T-C WEST) DISTRICTS; AND (3) AMENDING ARTICLE X, ENTITLED “SUPPLEMENTARY REGULATIONS”, TO ADD A NEW SUBSECTION 150-62.6, ESTABLISHING REGULATIONS FOR SUCH USE. Section 1. Recitals. Section 2. Chapter 150, Section 150-134, entitled “Terms defined”, of the Code is hereby amended to add the following terms and their definitions: (1) Skill Game Device, and (2) Skill Game Parlor. Section 3. Chapter 150, Section 150-20.1(B)(1), entitled “Permitted uses in the Transitional Commercial (T-C) Districts, of the Code is hereby amended to add the following as a new subsection: (ww) Skill Game Parlor, subject to the criteria set forth in § 150-62.6. Section 4. Chapter 150, Article X, entitled “Supplementary Regulations”, of the Code is hereby amended to add a new section to be numbered § 150-62.6, and to be entitled “Skill Game Parlor”, which establishes criteria and performance standards for Skill Game Parlors, including, but not limited to, regulations regarding location, distance, hours of operation, and video surveillance system requirements for Skill Game Parlors. Section 5. Severability. Section 6. Repealer. Section 7. Effective Date. If adopted, the ordinance will take effect immediately. The proposed ordinance may be examined without charge at the Borough Office at 111 North Fayette Street, Shippensburg, Pennsylvania, during regular business hours, which are Monday through Friday, from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.
