NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DES MOINES, IOWA, ON THE MATTER OF THE PROPOSED AUTHORIZATION OF A LEASE-PURCHASE AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF DES MOINES AND ZIEGLER INC. FOR THE LEASE-PURCHASE OF A TRACTOR WITH BOOM MOWER FOR USE IN CITY OPERATIONS, IN A TOTAL AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $88,875.00 PUBLIC NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City Council of the City of Des Moines, Iowa, will hold a public hearing on the 29th day of June, 2026 at 5:00 P.M., in the Council Chambers, City Administration Building, 1200 Locust Street, Des Moines, Iowa, 50309, at which meeting the City Council proposes to take action for the authorization of a Lease-Purchase Agreement between the City of Des Moines and Ziegler Inc. in the total lease-purchase amount not to exceed $88,875.00, for leasing of a tractor with boom mower for use in City operations by the Public Works Department. The Lease-Purchase Agreement, which will be on file in the Office of the City Clerk at City Administration Building, 1200 Locust Street, Des Moines, Iowa, 50309, at least four days prior to the public hearing, provides that the City shall pay said total lease-purchase amount of $88,875.00 as follows: (1) lease amount not to exceed $54,000 to be paid in six monthly installments of $9,000 per installment during a six-month term and credited toward the total purchase amount, and (2) lump-sum amount of $34,875 for purchase of the equipment at the end of said lease term. The Lease Agreement will be payable from the Road Use Fund. At the above-described public hearing, the City Council shall receive oral or written objections from any resident or property owner of the City to the above action. After all objections have been received and considered, the City Council will at said meeting or at any adjournment thereof, take additional action for the authorization of said Lease-Purchase Agreement or will abandon the proposal.
