RESOLUTION 22378 A RESOLUTION EXEMPTING CERTAIN CITY VEHICLES DISPLAYING THE WORDING “FOR OFFICIAL USE ONLY” UNDER SECTIONS 38-538, 38-538.01, AND 38-538.03 OF THE ARIZONA REVISED STATUTES. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PHOENIX as follows: SECTION 1. That pursuant to Sections 38-538, 38-538.01, and 38-538.03 of the Arizona Revised Statutes, certain City vehicles that are used to conduct social service programs, investigations, or other confidential activities, including vehicles of the Police, Fire, Human Services, and Aviation Departments, are hereby exempted from statutory requirements that motor vehicles owned or leased by the state or its political subdivision display the wording: “For Official Use Only.” SECTION 2. That Section 38-538.03 of the Arizona Revised Statutes stipulates that the governing body, namely City Council, may grant such exemptions for a period of time not to exceed one year. SECTION 3. That these exemptions shall be effective for the period from July 1, 2026, to June 30, 2027. PASSED by the City Council of the City of Phoenix this 20th day of May 2026.
