LEGAL NOTICE FOR OPEN PUBLIC HEARING
Weisenberger Road from Parkway East to Highway 51
MADISON COUNTY
Madison County Board of Supervisors, in coordination with the Mississippi Department of Transportation (MDOT) and Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), will conduct an Open Forum Public Hearing to present the Preferred Alternative and the Preliminary Environmental Assessment (EA) for the proposed Weisenberger Road Improvements project in Madison County from Parkway East to Highway 51.
The Preliminary EA promotes informed decision-making in the development of a transportation solution(s) by explaining the purpose and need of the proposed action, evaluating social, economic, and environmental impacts, soliciting feedback from the public and decision-makers, and determining whether further analysis is necessary or if the impacts are minimal enough to warrant a Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI).
The purpose of this Public Hearing is to present the evaluated range of alternatives with the identified Preferred Alternative for the project and to solicit comments. The hearing will be held from 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, at the Gluckstadt Police Department & Municipal Court, 140 Gluckstadt Way, Madison, MS.
Citizens are invited to come and go as they please during the hours of the hearing to view the County’s plans and exhibits, ask questions, and offer comments. Although there will be no provisions made for formal presentations by individuals or groups, citizens are encouraged to make written and/or taped comments that will become part of the hearing’s permanent record.
