BIDS FOR REFUSE COLLECTION FOR
JACOBUS BOROUGH
Sealed bids will be received by Jacobus Borough, by and through its Solicitor, Kathryn Silcox, Esquire, at the Saxton & Stump, 221 West Philadelphia Street, Suite 600, York, Pennsylvania 17401, until July 29, 2026 at 2:00 PM, at which time they will be publicly opened and read. Proposals will be voted upon at the meeting of the Jacobus Borough Council held at the Jacobus Borough Municipal Office, 126 North Cherry Lane, Jacobus, Pennsylvania 17407, on July 1, 2026, beginning at 7:00pm, prevailing time.
All bids must be plainly marked "BIDS FOR COLLECTION AND REMOVAL OF REFUSE AND RECYCLING FOR THE BOROUGH OF JACOBUS - Attention: Kathryn Silcox, Esquire" on the outside of the envelope.
All bid forms and specifications may be picked up from the office of the Borough Solicitor, Kathryn Silcox, Esquire, at the above-listed address, between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday -- Friday or may be requested electronically at: ksilcox@saxtonstump.com. The bids are being solicited for the collection and removal of refuse and recycling, including one (1) large item per week, within Jacobus Borough for the years 2027 through 2030 as further defined in the Specifications.
All bids must be accompanied by a certified or cashier's check, money order or bid bond with corporate surety payable or in favor of the Borough of Jacobus in the amount of Twenty-Five Thousand ($25,000.00) Dollars. The successful bidder will be required to post a performance bond and provide proof of insurance, as required by the specifications, within fifteen (15) days after the award has been made by the Borough Council.
All bids must be accompanied by a Non-Collusion Affidavit, a fully completed Statement of Bidder Qualifications, and a Contact Information Sheet, as well as any other document required by the General Requirements and Conditions for Bidding.
The Borough Council reserves the right to waive any technicalities or informalities, the right to reject any and all bids, the right to choose any combination of bids or alternate bid, and the right to reject any and all bids and alternates.
