Notice is hereby given by the Mayor and Borough Council of the Borough of Greencastle, Franklin County, Pennsylvania that Borough Council hold a public hearing on July 6, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. at the Borough Office at 60 N. Washington Street, Greencastle, Pennsylvania to receive public comment on a Zoning Ordinance Amendment which would amend Chapter 205 of the Code of the Borough of Greencastle, which ordinance is summarized below, and to consider the proposed ordinance for adoption and vote upon the enactment of the ordinance summarized below at the regularly scheduled public meeting of the Council of the Borough of Greencastle on July 6, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. The title of the proposed ordinance is:
AN ORDINANCE OF THE BOROUGH OF GREENCASTLE, FRANKLIN COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA AMENDING CHAPTER 205 OF THE CODE OF THE BOROUGH OF GREENCASTLE, ENTITLED “ZONING”, TO REGULATE PORTABLE STORAGE CONTAINERS AND TO REGULATE THE PARKING, STORAGE, AND USE OF RECREATIONAL VEHICLES.
A summary of the provisions of the proposed ordinance is as follows:
SECTION I: Code of the Borough of Greencastle, Chapter 205, Article V will be amended to add a subsection, regulating use of portable storage containers in specific zoning districts.
SECTION II: Code of the Borough of Greencastle, Chapter 205, Article V will be amended to add a subsection, regulating the parking, storage and use of recreational vehicles.
SECTION III: Section 205-56, Article XI will be amended to revise the definition of
‘Yard, Front’ and ‘Yard, Rear’.
SECTION IV: Section 205-56, Article XI will be amended to add definition for
“Portable Storage Container”.
SECTION V: Repealer. SECTION VI: Savings Clause. SECTION VII: Severability.
SECTION VIII: Effective Date.
