NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING ON PROPOSED ORDINANCE DEVELOPING AND SETTING WATER RATES AND CHARGES
Notice is hereby given to property owners and other interested parties of the Park One Industrial Park that the Yorktown Town Council will hold a public hearing at the Yorktown Town Hall located at 9312 W. Smith St, Yorktown, Indiana 47396 at 6:00 pm on Monday, July 20, 2026, to consider the development and setting of water rates under the provisions of Ind. Code § 13-26-11 et seq.
New Charges and Fee
The Monthly Minimum Charge will be $117.84 for 5/8 inch (4,800 gallons), $217.09 for 3/4 inch (7,200 gallons), $378.82 for 1 inch (12,000 gallons), $791.06 for 1 ½ inch (24,000 gallons), $1,211.05 for 2 inch (38,400 gallons), $1,974.25 for 3 inch (72,000 gallons), $3,049.60 for 4 inch (120,000 gallons), $5,739.58 for 6 inch (240,000 gallons), $8,139.38 for 8 inch (384,000 gallons), $12,729.70 for 10 inch (552,000 gallons), and $22,659.16 for 12 inch (1,032,000 gallons).
The Monthly Metered Rates (per 1,000 gallons) will be $22.97 for the first 20,000 gallons, $18.41 for the next 20,000 gallons, and $11.65 for over 40,000 gallons plus a monthly base charge of $7.59 for 5/8 inch, $51.65 for ¾ inch, $103.30 for 1 inch, $258.29 for 1 ½ inch, $413.25 for 2 inch, $774.35 for 3 inch, $1,290.56 for 4 inch, $2,582.82 for 6 inch, $4,132.51 for 8 inch, $5,938.77 for 10 inch, $11,104.38 for 12 inch.
The monthly fire service fees will be $58.31 per hydrant and sprinkler lines will be $6.47 for a 2 inch, $10.15 for a 2 ½ inch, $23.32 for a 4 inch, $58.31 for a 6 inch, $103.67 for an 8 inch, $161.97 for a 10 inch, and $233.22 for a 12 inch.
The Tap Fees will be $1,778.94 for 5/8-3/4 inch, $2,718.81 for 1 inch, $6,270.63 for 1 ½ inch, $7,833.19 for 2 inch, $14,696.75 for 3 inch, $16,006.62 for 4 inch, $24,075.74 for 6 inch, and not less than $25,000.00 as determined by the Town’s labor, equipment, and materials for an 8 inch and above.
The charges and fees are necessary to provide the Park One Industrial Park with sufficient operation, maintenance, and capital improvement revenues to provide adequate water facilities such that customers of Yorktown Water will not subsidize the costs of serving the Industrial Park.
At the hearing held prior to the final adoption of this Ordinance, all interested parties may appear and be heard. A copy of the Ordinance may be examined at the office of the Clerk-Treasurer.
