NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
AND ZONING BOARD OF APPEALS MEETING
To: The residents and property owners of the Charter Township of Bedford, Calhoun County, Michigan and any other interested persons.
PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the Zoning Board of Appeals of the Charter Township of Bedford will hold a public hearing and meeting on Monday, July 13, 2026 commencing at 6 p.m. at the Bedford Township Hall, 115 S. Uldriks Drive, Battle Creek, MI 49037, within the Township, to consider the following request for variance:
1) Consideration of the request of APC Towers, represented by ArcHaven, for a variance on property addressed as 20340 Hubbard Road, Battle Creek, MI 49017; Parcel No. 04-024-027-01 ("subject property"). The Applicant requests a variance of up to 83' setback from the north property line thereby allowing construction of a wireless telecommunications tower to be 199' in height, where the total setback should be 298.5 feet from the north property line as required by Section 4.55 of the Township Zoning Ordinance. The standards of review for granting a variance are contained in Section 13.05 of the Township Zoning Ordinance. The subject property is located in the Township's Rural and Neighborhood Residential District Zoning classification and is approximately 6.27 acres in size.
2) Such other and further matters as shall lawfully come before the Zonin Board of Appeals.
PLEASE TAKE FURTHER NOTICE that anyone interested in reviewing the proposed application for the request for variance noticed herein and Zoning Ordinance may request to examine a copy of the same by contacting the Bedford Township Clerk at the address, email address or telephone number provided below. The Township Zoning Ordinance and map is also posted on the Township's website at https://www.bedfordchartertwpmi.gov/.
PLEASE TAKE FURTHER NOTICE that written comments will be received at the office of the Township Clerk, Joyce Feraco, 115 S. Uldriks Drive, Battle Creek, MI 49037, within the Township at any time during regular business hours of regular business days until 4:00 p.m. on the date of said hearing, and will further be received by the Zoning Board of Appeals at the time of said hearing. Comments may also be emailed to the township clerk at clerk@bedfordchartertwpmi.gov.
PLEASE TAKE FURTHER NOTICE that the Township will provide necessary, reasonable auxiliary aids and services at the hearing to individuals with disabilities upon five (5) days' notice to the Bedford Township Clerk of the need for the same. Individuals with disabilities requiring auxiliary aids or services should contact the Township Clerk by writing or by calling the Clerk at the Township Hall.
All persons are invited to be present at the aforesaid time and place to participate in discussion on the above.
