Public Notice for Meeting Date July 13, 2026
NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
The Town of Wilson Plan Commission will hold a virtual public hearing on July 13 at 6:30 p.m. regarding a proposed ordinance amending the Town of Wilson Zoning Ordinance relating to data centers. The proposed ordinance would amend the Town of Wilson Zoning Ordinance to define “Data Center” and to clarify that data centers are not included within certain existing zoning use categories, including professional and business offices, business offices, professional offices, industrial establishments, warehouses and storage facilities, electronics uses, and other industrial processes or establishments, unless expressly authorized by the Zoning Ordinance. The purpose of the proposed ordinance is to clarify the treatment of data centers under the Town’s zoning regulations and to prevent data centers from being approved by interpretation as office, warehouse, storage, electronics, industrial, or similar uses where such use is not expressly listed. The proposed ordinance may affect multiple zoning districts within the Town of Wilson, including districts in which office, business, warehouse, storage, electronics, light industrial, or general industrial uses are currently listed. A copy of the proposed amendment is available at the Town Office for public review. Members of the public may attend the hearing by computer or telephone and will be given the opportunity to comment.
