SCHOOL BOARD OF LEE COUNTY, FLORIDANOTICE OF RULE DEVELOPMENT,PROPOSED RULE MAKING, AND PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on July 21, 2026, at 1:00 p.m., The School Board of Lee County, Florida ("School Board"), will meet in the School Board Meeting Room at the Lee County Public Education Center, 2855 Colonial Blvd., Fort Myers, Florida at the School Board Workshop for the purpose of rules development concerning the revision and adoption of the following: Policy 1150 - Resignation Policy 3120 - Employment of Instructional Staff Policy 3150 - Resignation Policy 4150 - Resignation The above policies are being adopted and revised in compliance with changes in related rules, regulations, and statutes; to adopt best practices and to promote transparency and accountability. Thereafter, the School Board will meet on August 3, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. at the above referenced location to conduct a Public Hearing to consider adoption of the above-mentioned School Board Rule. Notice of Rule Development is contained herein. The effective date of the items mentioned above is August 4, 2026. A draft of the proposed Rules may be viewed during normal business hours in the Communications Center at the Lee County Public Education Center, 2855 Colonial Blvd., Fort Myers, Florida. The Superintendent has determined that there will be no adverse economic impact resulting from the proposed adoption set forth above. It is not expected that the proposed rules will require legislative ratification. Any person wishing to appeal any decision made by the School Board at a meeting or hearing will need a verbatim record of the proceedings. This record must include testimony and evidence upon which the appeal is to be based.
