PUBLIC HEARING ON TRANSIT NEEDS IN RIVERSIDE COUNTY
Section 99238.5 of the California Public Utilities Code requires the Riverside County Transportation Commission (RCTC), as the county's transportation planning agency, to ensure the establishment and implementation of a citizen participation process, which requires the provision of at least one annual public hearing to solicit the input of transit dependent and transit disadvantaged persons, including seniors, persons with disabilities and persons of limited means.
RCTC is holding the meeting as required. Comments received will be used by RCTC and the county's transit operators in identifying transit needs in preparation of transportation plans and programs, including the Regional Transportation Plan and Short-Range Transit Plans. The comments will be transmitted to transit and paratransit operators as they relate to operating issues and needs. In addition, the comments will be shared with other social service agencies that provide transportation services to transit dependent populations.
