The regular meeting of the Lafourche Parish Fire Protection District Number Three Board of Commissioners was held on Tuesday, June 23, 2026. The meeting took place at the Lafourche Parish Fire District 3 Training Building in Cut Off. Chairman Reggie Pitre called the meeting to order at 6:30 PM.PLEDGE TO THE AMERICAN FLAG: Chairman Pitre led the pledge to our flag. ROLL CALL OF COMMISSIONERS: Chairman Reggie Pitre–Present; Vice-Chairman Dean Savoie–Present; Commissioner Morris Guidry–Absent; Commissioner Aaron Montez–Present; Commissioner Troy Dufrene–Absent.APPROVAL OF BOARD MEETING MINUTES: Commissioner Montez moved to accept the minutes of the May 19, 2026, Regular Board Meeting, as written, seconded by Commissioner Savoie. OLD BUSINESS: Chief Dedon stated that Benjamin Rath with CSRS could not make it to the meeting, so he provided Rath's Hurricane Ida update. Dedon discussed the progress of the South Golden Meadow station as well as the status of the West Cut Off and Fire Central Stations. Dedon stated that Belle Amie is completed and everything is fine. NEW BUSINESS: The 2025-2026 Budget Amendment was presented to the Board. The Board reviewed the amendment, and Commissioner Savoie moved to accept the amendment, seconded by Commissioner Montez.Vote held: Commissioner Savoie–Yea; Commissioner Dufrene-Absent; Commissioner Montez- Yea; Commissioner Guidry- Absent. The 2026-2027 Budget was presented to the Board. FIRE CHIEF'S REPORT: Chief Dedon discussed Policy 906, a training incentive program that we have been discussing for a few months. Dedon discussed the incentive to get our employees to train, which will only help with the PIAL rating. He asked the Board to review the policy, and it will be brought back up at the next meeting. Dedon also discussed recent training that Firefighters have been getting as well as upcoming trainings with surrounding departments.COMMUNICATION'S REPORT: Mary St Pierre advised 84 fire calls, and 254 ambulance calls so far this month. St Pierre stated that we hired a new dispatcher who is doing very well. St Pierre also discussed Central Square upcoming renewal quote that will be due in September. MECHANIC'S REPORT: Master Mechanic Ryan Pitre stated 21 maintenance reports and 9 work orders as well as 2 vehicles brought in for regularly scheduled work since last meeting. Pitre presented items that he would like to place for bid on Public Surplus. Board reviewed the items, and Commissioner Savoie moved to allow Pitre to place the items for bid, seconded by Commissioner Montez.Vote held: Commissioner Savoie–Yea; Commissioner Dufrene-Absent; Commissioner Montez- Yea; Commissioner Guidry- Absent. CHAIRMAN'S REPORT: Tori from the Center discussed her role at the Center and discussed their upcoming millage renewal. Tori informed everyone about the services available at the Center. Chairman Pitre gave recognition to DeeAnn Bergeron and Theresa Naquin for receiving awards from the Larose VFW. Bergeron was awarded EMT of the Year and placed second at the State level. Naquin was awarded Dispatcher of the Year and placed 3rd in the State. Chairman Pitre was also awarded Law Enforcement Officer of the Year and placed 2nd in the State. Pitre thanked Battalion Chief Lucas Bourgeois for the nominations. COMMISSIONERS' REPORTS: Commissioner Guidry: Absent. Commissioner Savoie: Congrats to all award winners.
