PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that on July 27, 2026 at 7:00 p.m., the Zoning Board of Adjustment of the Township of Howell will hold a public hearing on the application of J. Haugh Properties, LLC. The public hearing will take place at the Municipal Building, Meeting Room, 4567 Route 9 North, 2nd Floor, Howell, NJ. The premises which are the subject of the application are known as 207 Squankum Road, Howell, New Jersey. Said premises are also known as Block 49, Lots 24 and 24.01 in Howell Township, New Jersey.
The applicant is seeking Preliminary and Final Major Site Plan and Use Variance approval to construct an 8,400 s.f. commercial building and to convert the existing single-family home into office space. Use Variance approval under NJSA 40:55D-70(d)(1) is required because the proposed retail crane rental business is not a permitted use in the SED-1 zone, nor are 2 principal uses on one lot. A side yard setback variance to the existing home being converted to office is required of 26.9 ft. where 50 ft. is required. In addition, a variance is required for the existing garage to be 13.7 ft. from the side property line where 31.2 ft. is required.
The applicant also intends to request at the hearing such density, use and bulk variances and/or waivers of design standards and/or submission requirements as are required to develop the premises in the manner indicated in the application materials, and any other variances or waivers that the Board may require.
The application for development and all supporting maps, site plans and documents are on file in the office of the Department of Planning and Zoning and are available for public inspection, during normal business hours at the Municipal Building, 4567 Route 9 North, Howell, New Jersey. Any interested party may appear at the aforesaid hearing, either in person, or by their attorney, and be given an opportunity to be heard with respect to the aforesaid application.
