Notice is hereby given that the Planning Commission of the City of Tulare will hold a public hearing at 5:30 p.m., on Tuesday, July 28th, 2025, in the Council Chamber, 491 North M Street, Tulare, California, to hear a request by Caleb Byron to designate the existing house, Frew House, as a local historic-cultural landmark and add it to the local historic registry per Tulare Municipal Code under Chapter 10.38 Historic Preservation in the City of Tulare Municipal Code. The subject property is located at 260 E Merritt Avenue (170-320-035). The Property is zoned R-1-6 (Single-Family Residential). The meeting is open to the public, and any person present will have the opportunity to be heard for the following:
Adopt a resolution designating the Frew House as a local historic-cultural landmark and add it to the local historic registry. This application has been filed under the provisions of Chapter 10.38 of Title 10 of Tulare City Code.For further information regarding this matter, please contact Jonathan Coelho, Associate Planner at (559) 684-4221.The Community Development Department has determined that this project is exempt pursuant to Section 15183 the California Environmental Quality Act of 1970, as amended.If you challenge the proposed project in court, you may be limited to raising only those issues you or someone else raised at the public hearing described in this notice, or in written correspondence delivered to the City of Tulare at, or prior to, the public hearing.
