NOTICE
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City Council of the city of Destin, FL will conduct two public hearings to consider the adoption of Ordinance No. 26-20-LC proposing the annexation of certain unincorporated properties in Okaloosa County, Florida into the municipal limits of the City of Destin.
The public hearings will be held as follows:

ORDINANCE NO. 26-20-LC: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF DESTIN FLORIDA APPROVING THE UNIFORM METHOD (“INVOLUNTARY”) ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN REAL PROPERTY TOTALING 2076.095 +/- ACRES, CONTAINING ALL UNINCORPORATED LAND LYING EAST AND SOUTH OF CHOCTAWHATCEE BAY LOCATED IN OKALOOSA COUNTY FLORIDA, AS MORE SPECIFICALLY DESCRIBED HEREIN; AMENDING THE CITY CHARTER BY REDEFINING THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE CITY OF DESTIN; DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER TO DO ALL THINGS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THIS ANNEXATION; DIRECTING THE CITY CLERK TO FILE A COPY OF THIS ORDINANCE WITH THE CLERK OF THE CIRCUIT COURT IN OKALOOSA COUNTY, THE CHIEF ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER OF OKALOOSA COUNTY, AND THE FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF STATE WITHIN THIRTY DAYS AFTER ADOPTION, IN ACCORDANCE WITH SECTION 171, FLORIDA STATUTES; PROVIDING A CONFLICTS CLAUSE; PROVIDING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
The purpose of the public hearings is to receive public comment and consider an ordinance annexing an area consisting of all unincorporated land lying east and south of Choctawhatchee Bay located in Okaloosa County Florida into the City of Destin. Copies of the proposed annexation ordinance, legal description, and map of the area proposed to be annexed are available for public inspection at the City Clerk’s Office, City Hall, 4200 Indian Bayou Trail, Destin, Florida 32541, during normal business hours.
All persons are advised that, if any person decides to appeal any decision made at any of these meetings, he/she will need a record of the proceedings and, for such purpose, they need to ensure that a verbatim record of the proceedings is made, which record includes the testimony and evidence upon which the appeal is to be based (Florida Statutes 286.0105).
