INTRODUCED: July 7, 2026 PASSED: July 7, 2026 PUBLISHED: July 10, 2026 PUBLISHED: July 17, 2026   RESOLUTION NO. 2026-R-23   A RESOLUTION FIXING THE TIME AND PLACE AND PROVIDING FOR NOTICE OF A HEARING BEFORE THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF HUTCHINSON, KANSAS, AT WHICH TIME THE OWNERS, THEIR AGENTS, LIENHOLDERS OF RECORD AND OCCUPANTS OF THE STRUCTURES LOCATED IN SAID CITY HEREINAFTER DESCRIBED MAY APPEAR AND SHOW JUST CAUSE WHY SUCH STRUCTURES SHOULD NOT BE CONDEMNED AND ORDERED REPAIRED OR DEMOLISHED AS DANGEROUS OR UNSAFE STRUCTURES.   WHEREAS, the Building Official of the City of Hutchinson has found that the structure(s) on the properties described are in disrepair and are unsafe and dangerous; and   NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF HUTCHINSON, KANSAS, THAT:   SECTION 1. A hearing will be held on the 18th day of August 2026 at 5:30 pm in the City Council Chambers of City Hall, 125 East Avenue B, Hutchinson, Kansas, at which time the owners, the agents, lienholders of record, and occupants of the structures located on the following described property may appear and show cause why the structures should not be condemned and ordered repaired or demolished.   1. 102 W 9th Avenue - Lots 1, 2 and 3, Block 2, Smith's Addition to the City of Hutchinson, Reno County, Kansas, EXCEPT the East 104.4 feet thereof, AND EXCEPT 6.5 feet taken from the South side of Lot 1 to straighten the North side of 9th Street; AND EXCEPT the North 1.7 feet of that part of Lot 3, lying West of the East 104.4 feet. 2. 300 E Avenue E - Lots 74 and 76, Avenue "E" East, Original Town, Hutchinson, Reno County, Kansas. 3. 315 ½ N Cleveland Street - The South 4.3 feet of the West 38 feet of Lot 14, and the West 38 feet of Lots 15 and 16, Block 4, Woodard's Second Addition to Hutchinson, Reno County, Kansas. 4. 615 E Avenue A - Lot 55 and the East 5 feet of Lot 56, Avenue "A" East, Brown and Bigger's Addition to the City of Hutchinson, Reno County, Kansas. 5. 1109 N Elm Street - The South 50 feet of Lots 24, 25, 26 and 27, Block 7, Hutchinson Investment Company's Ninth Addition to the City of Hutchinson, Reno County, Kansas.   SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall cause this Resolution to be published once each week for two consecutive weeks on the same day of each week, and shall otherwise give notice for such hearing in the manner provided by K.S.A 12-1750. Et seq.   SECTION 3.
