NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
DESERT SANDS UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Board of Education of the Desert Sands Unified School District (“District”) at its regular meeting on July 21, 2026, will hold a public hearing to consider the adoption of the proposed “Fee Justification Report for New Residential and Commercial/Industrial Development” (“Fee Justification Report”), and adopting a Resolution of the Board to approve the statutory fee rates of $5.38/sq. ft. of assessable space for residential development, and $0.87/sq. ft. of chargeable covered and enclosed space for commercial/industrial projects (except for self-storage projects at the fee rate of $0.11/sq. ft.).
The Fee Justification Report will be made available for public review at least ten (10) days prior to the public hearing and adoption by the Board as required by law at both the District’s administrative office, located at 47-950 Dune Palms Road in La Quinta, and on the District’s website.
On Tuesday, July 21, 2026, the public hearing will begin at 7:00 p.m., or as soon as practicable thereafter, in the Education Center Boardroom, located at 47-950 Dune Palms Road in La Quinta, California 92253. Details for public participation will be provided on the Board’s webpage. Any written comments must be submitted to the District no later than 5:00 p.m. the day before the public hearing.
Any person challenging the approval of the Fee Justification Report or the adjusted statutory fee rates in a court of competent jurisdiction after the conclusion of the public hearing may be limited to only those issues raised at the hearing or in written correspondence received by the District by the submission deadline.
