NOTICE OF CONSOLIDATED PUBLIC HEARINGS BY THE HEALTH AND HOSPITAL CORPORATION OF MARION COUNTY, INDIANA CONCERNING ITS 2026/2027 Capital Improvement Projects
The citizens within the boundaries of The Health and Hospital Corporation of Marion County, Indiana (the "Health and Hospital Corporation") are hereby notified that the Board of Trustees of the Health and Hospital Corporation (the "Board") is considering multiple separate projects, each of which is an independently desirable project in itself without reference to another capital project, that will include real estate acquisition and the design, engineering, construction, renovation, repair, improvement and equipping of various capital projects at facilities owned or operated, or to be owned or operated, by the Health and Hospital Corporation, including, but not limited to, (1) the renovation, re-construction, construction and/or equipping of one or more ambulance stations, (2) real estate acquisition, (3) the purchase of equipment, (4) security system upgrades, and (5) such other projects related to the foregoing (collectively, the "2026/2027 Capital Improvement Projects").
All or a portion of the 2026/2027 Capital Improvement Projects will be financed by issuing one or more series of general obligation bonds of the Health and Hospital Corporation in an original aggregate principal amount not to exceed $25,000,000 with a maximum term not to exceed twenty (20) years after the issuance of each series (collectively, the "Bonds"). Notice is hereby given by the undersigned that on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, the Board of Trustees of The Health and Hospital Corporation of Marion County, Indiana (the "Health and Hospital Corporation"), will, at its meeting to be held at 2:00 p.m., local time, in the Faegre Drinker Conference Room of the Rapp Family Conference Center located at 720 Eskenazi Avenue, Indianapolis, Indiana 46202, and again on Tuesday, August 25 2026, at 2:00 p.m., local time, in the same location, conduct a consolidated public hearing (1) to explain the potential value of the 2026/2027 Capital Improvement Projects to the Health and Hospital Corporation and the community, (2) regarding a preliminary determination with respect to the 2026/2027 Capital Improvement Projects to issue one or more series of the Bonds to finance all or any portion of the costs of all or any portion of the 2026/2027 Capital Improvement Projects, and (3) appropriating the proceeds of the Bonds and the interest earning thereon. At each of the hearings, the Board will also hear objections to and support for all or any portion for the 2026/2027 Capital Improvement Projects from the general public.
All interested parties are entitled and encouraged to attend to present their testimony and ask any questions relative to all or any portion of the 2026/2027 Capital Improvement Projects and the additional appropriation.
Subsequent to the public hearing held on August 25, 2026, the Board expects to consider adoption of (a) a resolution regarding the nature of the 2026/2027 Capital Improvement Projects and making a preliminary determination with respect to the 2026/2027 Capital Improvement Projects to issue one or more series of general obligation bonds and pursuant to the terms described in this notice, and (b) a resolution appropriating the proceeds of each series of the Bonds and interest earnings thereon in the amount set forth in the public hearing. Those proceeds and the investment earnings thereon will be used for the payment of the costs of the 2026/2027 Capital Improvement Projects and the costs of issuance of the Bonds.
Such appropriation is in addition to any appropriation provided for in the existing budget and tax law. Funds to cover the appropriation are to be provided from the proceeds of the Bonds in an amount not to exceed that set forth in this notice, plus all investment earnings thereon.
