ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS   Sealed proposals will be received by the Alabama Department of Transportation at the office of the Alabama Department of Transportation located at 1409 Coliseum Boulevard, Montgomery, Alabama 36110 until 2:00 p.m. Local TimeAugust 13, 2026, for ALDOT Tuscumbia Emergency Generator Replacement, Tuscumbia, Alabama, at which time and place they will be publicly opened and read. Bidders are responsible for assuring their bids are received prior to bid date and time.   The project consists of the replacement of existing emergency generators and associated electrical equipment at two Alabama Department of Transportation facilities located at 295 AL-20, Tuscumbia, Alabama. Work includes the removal and disposal of the existing generators, automatic transfer switches, and related electrical components; installation of new emergency generators, automatic transfer switches, conductors, grounding systems, and associated electrical infrastructure; modification and reconnection of existing electrical services as required; testing and commissioning of all equipment to verify proper operation; and restoration of any disturbed areas resulting from construction. The contractor shall provide all labor, materials, equipment, permits, and coordination necessary to complete the work in accordance with the contract documents, applicable codes, and manufacturer requirements, ensuring uninterrupted emergency power service to the facilities.   All bids must be submitted in a sealed envelope bearing on the outside the name of the Bidder, Bidder’s license number, and name of the project. All bidders bidding in amounts exceeding that established by the State Licensing Board for General Contractors must be licensed under the provisions of Title 34, Chapter 8, Code of Alabama, 1975, and must show evidence of license before bidding or bid will not be received or considered by the Architect; the bidder shall show such evidence by clearly displaying his or her current license number on the outside of the sealed envelope in which the proposal is delivered. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and to waive technical errors if, in the Owner’s judgment, the best interests of the Owner will thereby be promoted.   No bidder may withdraw his bid within 45 days after the actual date of the opening thereof.   Nonresident bidders must accompany any written bid documents with a written option of an attorney at law licensed to practice law in such nonresident bidder’s state of domicile, as to the preferences, if any or none, granted by the law of that state to its own business entities whose principal places of business are in that state in the letting of any or all public contracts.   John R.
