You, and each of you, are hereby notified that the State of Iowa desires certain rights in land more specifically described as follows and shown with reference to their location as to land affected on the Graphic Exhibit "A" attached to the Application filed with the Chief Judge of the Judicial District containing Polk County, Iowa, and in the Office of the Sheriff of Polk County, Iowa, to which you are referred:
The title in fee simple for highway purposes sought to be appropriated is in land described as follows and as shown on Graphic Exhibit "A" and by reference made a part hereof:
Lots 81, 82 and 83 and Lot 84, except the South 29 feet thereof and a strip of land 24 feet in width, lying West of and adjacent to the West line of said Lots 81, 82 and 83 and Lot 84, except the South 29 feet thereof; also, the West 16 feet of Lots 115, 116, 117 and 118 (except the South 20 feet of Lot 115) and 14 foot vacated alley lying West of and adjoining said Lots 115, 116, 117 and 118, all in Grays Subdivision of Blocks 50 and 62 in Brooks and Co’s Addition to Des Moines, now included in and forming a part of the City of Des Moines, Iowa, except for that portion thereof previously deeded to the City of Des Moines, Iowa for street purposes.
In connection with this condemnation proceeding it is specifically provided that any and all improvements, located wholly within the land sought in fee simple title are condemned in their entirety.
You are further notified that the Commissioners will report to Polk County River Place, 2309 Euclid Avenue in Des Moines, Iowa, at 9:00 a.m. on the 16th day of September 2026 and will view your property at approximately 9:30 a.m. on the same day. They will then return to Polk County River Place and proceed to appraise said damages. You may participate in these proceedings if you care to do so.
