Notice is hereby given that Blount Bros. Construction, LLC has applied for a 401 Water Quality Certification to expand an existing commercial dredging operation in the Red River. An additional 5,000,000 cubic yards of sand will be dredged each year from the Red River between Red River Mile Marks 222 and 227 near Shreveport and Bossier City in both Caddo and Bossier Parishes. The dredged material will be stored in existing sand storage cells off East 70th Street near Shreveport and south of the dredging area. Blount Bros. Construction, LLC is applying to the Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality, Office of Environmental Services for a Water Quality Certification in accordance with statutory authority contained in the LAC 33:IX.1507.A-E and provisions of Section 401 of the Clean Water Act.
