PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE
14 Plain Street Demolition Delay
Notice is given by the Braintree Historical Commission pursuant to the Braintree General Ordinance - Chapter 5.7 Demolition Delay and MGL Chapter 40C - that a public hearing will be conducted on Tuesday, July 28th, 2026, at 6:00 PM in Braintree Town Hall. The Braintree Historical Commission will consider an application from Braintree Apartments Venture, L.L.C. (dba Trammell Crow Residential), on behalf of the property owner Hollingworth Pond, LLC, for the demolition of 14 Plain Street, (Assessors Map 1031 Plot 01 & 05). The mill / factory building locally known as the “Armstrong Cork factory” was built in 1950. The Historical Commission shall determine if demolition would be detrimental to the historical or architectural heritage of resources of the Town of Braintree and if a demolition delay should be imposed.
Said property is bounded by Hancock Street, Plain Street and John Mahar Highway and is approximately 32.5 (+/-) acres as shown on Assessors’ Map 1031 Plot 1 & 5 located in a Commercial Zoning District.
